Norwich Castle 1101 38th Charter Night

Last night saw the 38th Charter Night for Norwich Castle 1101.  It was held at the City Club in Norwich and was well attended.

I do not know how I am keeping such a svelte like figure this year as the food was excellent and the drink flowed.   Patrick Cutter (Chairman) had not made too much effort in organising an interesting speaker – his slightly older twin brother.   Philip Cutter though was very amusing; I do feel sorry for their Dad!

The night saw a very special presentation of a Diamond pin badge.  In the photographs above you can just about make out Andrew Kerry (Area Membership Officer) awarding David Barnes this special badge for introducing 10 new members into Table.  What a fantastic achievement.

I must apologise to Patrick, I could not resist but your Netball Runners up Trophy looks good on my Study shelf!  Look forward to seeing you at the next Area event in February to return it!

North Walsham Ladies Night 11-11-11

What a fantastic night! The food was good, the company was good, the music was….excellent and the drink flowed.  The crowd from Dereham really enjoyed themselves.

Well done to Roger and “Dennis” for organising such an enjoyable event!  You can see from the photos (thanks to all who took photos and put them on Facebook for me to lift!) that everybody had a good time

Golf with a Difference

The 25th October saw the next Area 6 sports event.  Saw is probably not the correct term though.  Hunstanton & District 615 organised one of the strangest events I have ever attended – Night Golf!

As it can be demonstrated through the photos it was dark (my Gran has a term for how dark it was but I am afraid that it is not very PC!)

I am surprised that no one had an accident/broke a leg/got hit by a club.  I am even more surprised that it was the first game of golf during which I did not lose my golf ball playing.

The results of the night can be seen on the Sporting Prowess page.  I am surprised that Hunstanton have won yet another event, as it took Buster in excess of 10 shots to get off the tee on a number of holes (I did say it was dark!).

Big thanks to Hunstanton for organising such a unique event!

Ladies Circle Black & White Ball

Back on the 24th September I “treated” my wife for our wedding anniversary to the Ladies Circle 75th Ball in Birmingham.

It turned out to be an excellent treat as the event was fantastic.  Vicky and her team really pulled out all the stops.

I Love Ladies Circle!

Night out with Sheringham & Cromer

The other Thursday night saw an interesting but somewhat cold wander around the streets of Norwich with an elite selection of the membership from Sheringham & Cromer!

The walk was conducted by the “man in black”, who insisted that he was from the long distant past, the only thing I can say for certain was that he had a strong attraction to the ladies undergarments shop in London Street!

There were a few surprises during the night including Mr Fisher buying a round!

Again another good Table night, for further details about the organised walks please visit www.ghostwalksnorwich.co.uk

Night out on the Slots

The Vice Chairman joined me on an evening out with Norwich No1.  We had a great evening at Presto Park Slot Club even though Mark looks very serious!

Unlike most table nights it was very well organised, thanks to Presto Park and we spent the evening racing against each other in some very tense heats.  Tom (the guest) won, demonstrating that he had great skill in his index finger!

We finished the night off in true Table style with a celebration curry and pint of cobra!

Thank you Norwich, Mark and I had a cracking evening!

Silly Sausage

Now last Thursday turned out to be a night I enjoyed greatly and the bonus was my wife has enjoyed it since!

I met up with the Aylsham Tablers on their visit to J&D Papworth Farms butchers unit in North Walsham. I must say I learnt a lot on this evening from how to carve up a carcase, to the correct pressure needed to turn a chipolata into a proper sausage. We rounded the evening off with a taste of our efforts at Kellys.

I had great fun and was made to feel very welcome by the guys from Aylsham.  Thank you for the invite and thank you to the chaps from Papworths.

Please follow the link (click on Aylsham on the Tables page) to Aylsham web site for what will be an interesting video of the night.
