Kings Lynn Vancouver 1114 recently held their Charity Ball at the Town Hall in Kings Lynn.

During the evening there were a few party games and an auction to help raise money for The Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Scotties Little Soldiers.

This was an excellent night of fun and fellowship.

Mark Older went flying into his Area Chairman Role by attending Harleston & District 924 the day after the Area AGM.

This was a great night of drinking, fellowship and drinking.  We managed to drink all the red wine save for a £45 bottle, there are limits even for Harleston!

Area AGM

The Area 6 – Founders Area, AGM was held at Barnham Broom Hotel on the 18 April and was well attended by the Tables in our Area.

Spencer Burrell waffled on for some time about the cracking year he had and thanked all that had received him over the last year!  He had made some good friends over the year and experienced some uncomfortable moments.

The guys from the National Sports Weekend 2012 – Birmingham (www.nsw2012.co.uk) attended and highlighted what an excellent weekend they had planned for September and looked forward to seeing Area 6 there.

Mark Older the incoming Chair highlighted the events he had planned (all details are on the Area events page) and looked forward to getting around the Tables over the next twelve months.

The highlight of the evening was a fantastic interruption by the Ladies from Dereham & District Ladies Circle 58 (www.ladiescircle.co.uk).  They thoroughly tested Mark in his ability to become an Area Chairman although his dress sense was not as good as the outgoing Chairman’s!

AREA 6 – The Founders Area AGM

The Area AGM has been announced for the 18th April 7:30pm for 8:oopm start.  £15/head to be held at Barnham Broom Hotel.  Details are on the Area Events page.  Please contact us no later than the 13th April if you wish to attend.

The incoming Area Chairman has confirmed his Area events for next year and these details are on the Area Events 2012/13 page.  It looks to be a fantastic year ahead which will see for the first time in ages an Area Ball which will have a Jubilee theme.  There will be excellent live music provided by the Harley Street Band.  Places are limited to this event and I understand that 30 spaces have already gone!

The first meeting of the year will be Paintball in Norwich.  Click on the events page to open a link to the Skirmish site.

Area are proposing to subsidise both of these events so if you come to both you will get more than your Area Subs back! What a fantastic deal.

Adnams!

Need I say any more!

Stalham & District invited me to attend a brewery tour with them at the Famous Adnams Brewery in Southwold.

It did not start off well considering I was 20 minutes late and most of them had their mobiles switched off.  But it is amazing to see how Adnams have developed their site whilst maintaining the quite seaside town charm.

After sampling a few beers we retired back to the Kings Head for some excellent food and conversation.  I now know how to pickle an egg and smoke a joint (of gammon).

Dereham & District Ladies Night

Back on the 10th March I attended Dereham & Districts Ladies Night.  It was a very colourful night with great company, fantastic music and plenty of drink!

It is always great to see such a celebration of our Ladies and the support they have given us throughout the year.

Bowled Over!!

Going back a “few” weeks! Saw the Founders Area bowling night.   This is always a great night for fellowship and some tolerance from whichever team I play for.  Luckily this year David Tester from Dereham Table scoured a couple less than I did and was duly awarded a bottle of blackcurrant squash!

The winners can be seen on the sporting prowess page, which does not show how close it actually was.

Excellent night.  Thank you to all those who came.
